Series overview
Foreteen is the term used to describe the relationship between Eric Foreman and Remy "Thirteen" Hadley. Unlike the other terms fans use to describe relationships, this term was actually used on the series. The relationship lasted from Season 5 until Season 6, but its ramifications extended well into Season 7. Foreman checks on Thirteen about Spencer and getting her job back. She is silent until she tells him she feels alone even though Spencer is still there. House cuts an onion on Spencer's tray table, right beneath her face.
His only true friend is Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), head of the Department of Oncology. Thirteen arrives and finds the patient's wife outside his room. However, she doesn't want to see him unless she and their sons mean more to him than other people do. Thirteen then goes to see Benjamin to ask about the kidney. She goes to leave, but Benjamin says he will give her the other kidney. She reminds him he will die, but he says he can go on dialysis and save even more lives when he dies and donates his other organs.
Cast
Masters thinks it's a problem with the wife's hormones and has already started tests. House tells them not to rule out the husband. Thirteen tries to get House's attention, but he's ignoring her. Finally, Thirteen pipes up and everyone wonders who it is. As they do the environmental scan, Foreman wonders why Taub was home late the previous night. Foreman finally realizes that Taub was on a date, and Taub says it was the hot redhead certified nursing assistant.
Thirteen realizes the patient is having a focal seizure and can't be discharged. House realizes Thirteen needs more medical care. However, he's wondering why the patient's kidney's are fine when he's taken the same drugs as Thirteen.
Taub and Foreman are on their way to do an environmental scan of his house. Cuddy's strategy is to force House to the bargaining table with her mother. Thirteen explains to the patient that it will only be for a few minutes until Cuddy folds. However, the patient sees an attractive woman and tells his limo driver and the doctors to shut up. The woman is Jennifer Williams, his old sweetheart. They go to hug, but the patient vomits even though he doesn't feel nauseous.
A cab pulls up in a nearly empty parking lot. House is there and when the cabbie confirms he's there to pick someone up at 9 am, House pays the cabbie to take the day off. We look over House's shoulder and see the entrance to New Jersey's Middlebury Correctional Institution. Thirteen walks out of the prison and sees House waiting for her. He gives her a martini, which she gladly accepts and drains in two mouthfuls. However, House figures that their ongoing relationship is interfering with their work and orders them to split or quit.
Taub reports that the patient had eye hemorrhaging two years ago. Kutner thinks that blood clots could explain everything, but Thirteen dismisses Spencer as a hypochondriac. In the episode Last Resort, she agrees to be a guinea pig for a hostage-taking patient and injects herself with every drug given to the patient to allay his fears that they are giving him a sedative. It is only at the end, when she is near-complete kidney failure from the drug overdoses, that she realizes she wants to live and refuses to take the last drug, which most likely would have killed her. After House goes to Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital, Cuddy keeps Thirteen and the rest of the staff.
